Pokemon: Detective Pikachu

I forgot how made for children Pokemon is. I had seen the trailer leading up to the release and was excited for it. Mainly to see the world created in the live action film. I was used to the animated films from when I was little, while still cherished, I must admit today’s technology is awesome to see utilized on the big screen.

That was the biggest takeaway for me from the film. I enjoyed seeing the CGI and interactions the Pokemon had. I just wasn’t that into the storyline or the idea to begin with. I never thought of Pokemon as being able to talk or communicate, I belonged more to the trainer and battle storylines. Those are the ones I remember when I was younger. I hope they use the same live action style and make the original story line with Ash. It did seem like they were opening the universe for more films, I’m looking forward to it.

3/5 for me.
